The Guardian interested in how we use graphene chips in brain cancer surgery
The Guardian/Observer (Sunday edition of the Guardian newspaper) interviewed Kostas for their article on the use of the graphene neural interfaces in the clinical trial currently enrolling patients, titled: Graphene-chip implant in UK trial could transform brain tumour surgery.
The article aimed to explain in greater detail for the non-expert how the graphene-based medical devices were used in the clinical trial: “to differentiate cancer cells from healthy cells to ensure that surgery on brain tumours is directed in a highly accurate way” said Kostas. This first-in-human trial led by Dr David Coope as the Chief Clinical Investigator and Kostas as the Chief Scientific Investigator will enroll a total of 8 to 10 patients.
