In their article, ‘‘Graphene Oxide Nanosheets Stimulate Ruffling and Shedding of Mammalian Cell Plasma Membranes,’’ Sun et al. described how the early-stage interaction between graphene oxide (GO) flakes and rat basophilic leukemia (RBL) cells perturbed their plasma membrane without causing cytotoxicity.
