Dr. Sinead Savage
Research Associate, Project Manager & Research Lab Manager
Sinead received her BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Glasgow in 2008. After graduating, she obtained a PhD from Imperial College London (Department of Surgery and Cancer) supervised by Dr Daqing Ma and Professor Mark Johnson. Her PhD work focused on the neuroprotective effects of the noble gas argon in an in vivo model of perinatal hypoxia. Sinead joined the Nanomedicine Lab in December 2015, utilising behavioural studies alongside molecular techniques to assess nanomaterials as therapeutic platforms against neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease. Since completing her Postdoctoral position within the group, Sinead has stayed on to become Research Lab Manager, continuing her involvement in the research aspects of the day-to-day running of the Nanomedicine Lab. In addition to this, Sinead is Project Manager within the Nanomedicine Lab, working on the Graphene Flagship project, in particular with the Lab’s involvement in Work Package 5 (Biomedical Technologies).
