After graduating with a BSc in Biotechnology from Shandong Normal University in China in 2016, Anita pursued her enthusiasm in molecular biology and cancer research by studying in the UK where she obtained her MSc (Res) degree in Translational Oncology at the University of Sheffield. In 2021, She completed her PhD at the School of Clinical Dentistry, the University of Sheffield which was funded by a University of Sheffield – China Scholarship Council joint sponsorship. Her PhD was focused on investigating the role of vault RNA in oral cancer derived extracellular vesicles.

Anita joined the Nanomedicine Lab in 2021 as a Research Associate. Her project is funded by the CRUK International Alliance for Cancer Early Detection (ACED) and aims to develop a nanoparticle-enabled multi-omics integrative blood analysis pipeline for the discovery of early detection cancer biomarkers.
