Profs. Jose Antonio Garrido (Advanced Electronic Materials and Devices (AEMD)) and Kostas Kostarelos have been awarded the Barcelona City Award 2024 by the Barcelona City Council in the ‘Experimental Sciences and Technology’ category. Their graphene neural interface technology (developed in collaboration with the Institut de Microelectrònica de Barcelona (IMB-CNM, CSIC)) has allowed the translation of microimplants in clinical neuro-oncology and neurology.
